At the beginning of summer I sowed some seeds…
… that are now starting to fruit.
I’ve never grown tondo di piacenza (round) zucchini before. Apparently the variety is very popular in Italy. Thriving despite my neglect and the scorching temperatures I can see we’re going to have a bumper crop.
I am so looking forward to eating them… I can’t imagine it will be much longer.
I've never tried them either. Let us know how they go. I bet they are nice.
ReplyDeleteohhh, ours have come out too, looking forward to a yummy vegetarian zucchini pasta sauce...mmm.

Zucchini is my absolute favourite vegetable, could eat them every day! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely scrumptious. The flowers are TDF. I love the zuc's thinly sliced in salad, grated in a quiche, veg rissoles or cake, oh the list is endless ... you're definitely blessed. Well Done ;)
ReplyDeleteI so want a veggie patch and we never get around to it, probably because I am not sure where to put it. I really need to just get over it and have a crack
ReplyDeleteYay - what a versatile veggie..... and cute when they're round. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteZucs here all round too. Getting creative with the meals! I love night swimming.
ReplyDeleteOh my girl I hope you have plenty of zuch recipes - ours are prolific!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother one here drowning in the flood of zucchini. If any Aussies out there get the free Coles supermarket mag, the current one has a zuch, sweet potato & feta frittata that is just terrific! Can't get enough of that one!
